I think this page is always the hardest thing to write. There's this feeling that you should do it in third person maybe? Third person feels a bit presumptive though. Like I'm being looked back at by historians. 'Alex wasn't very good at writing his about page.'

Hello, dear reader. Thanks for showing interest in who the maniac behind PuddleJumpers and TCE Comics is. I'm Alex. I work a day job, like most people, and spend what time I can writing things for comics, games, and books.

I'm interested in science fiction and fantasy because of the freedom they give to twist ideas into new shapes. For me, genre writing encourages play in a way that straight fiction doesn't. I'm inspired by the work of writers like Becky Chambers, Patricia McKillip, Simon Spurrier, and Robert Jackson Bennet (to name a few) and hope over the years I can build up a fun library of work to share with everyone.

I do my writing in my free time, and I don't do it for profit. However, I like collaborating with people on my writing and I like to pay those collaborators what they're worth. That means, if you ever see me running a Kickstarter or talking about how you can sign up to a membership of this very site, any money raised is going straight into the production of more work. I plan for that to be the case for the foreseeable future.
